Copier Setup

We have a large Canon ImageRunner ADV-c5550i color copier for members to use while at Aviary Coworking. Copies and scans can be performed directly at the machine, using the PIN assigned when you joined us. Members can also print directly to the copier from their laptops when here. To do so, the correct driver and interface software will need to be installed on your computer. We have a copy on a flash drive that members may use. But, if we are unavailable or you want to install the software yourself for any reason, please follow the instructions below.

PC/Windows Instructions

  1. Ensure that you are connected to the Aviary wi-fi network and disconnected from any other networks or hos spots.
  2. Determine if you are using the 32bit or 64bit version of Windows. Do this by typing “system” into the Windows search bar at the bottom left of your desktop and clicking the result “System Information.” Once opened, you should see a line that says “System Type” with either a 32 or 64.
  3. Download the latest version of the correct driver for your machine (and operating system!) from the Canon website HERE. You will want the UFRII .exe file.
  4. Once downloaded, find the file on your computer and extract the compressed file by double-clicking.
  5. After the extraction is complete, open the new folder it created.
  6. In that folder open the correct sub folder (either 32 or 64 bit based on your operating system) and double click on the Setup.exe file.
  7. This will run a wizard that installs the correct drivers and will find the copier on the network.
  8. Once it is done searching, click the box next to the iR-ADV C5550, and click Next. If it is not there, try searching again. If that doesn’t work, restart your laptop, ensure you are connected to the Aviary network (and no others) and run the Setup.exe file again. If the issue persists, please speak to one of us.
  9. On the next screen, click Start and it will finish the installation process. Once that is complete, you will need to restart your computer.
  10. After restarting, you should now be able to find the copier from whatever program you are using to print from; Word, Excel, Chrome, etc.
  11. When you print, you will be prompted to enter your user ID and password. These are both the same 4-digit code you were assigned when you joined us. It was in the Welcome email we sent.
  12. That’s it! If you need any help, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Mac/Apple Instructions

  1. Ensure that you are connected to the Aviary wi-fi network and disconnected from any other networks or hos spots.

  3. Download the latest version of the correct driver for your machine (and operating system!) from the Canon website HERE. You will want the UFRII file.
  4. Once downloaded, find the file on your computer and install the file by double-clicking.
  5. Open System Preferences.
  6. Click Printers and Scanners
  7. Press the + button to add a new printer.
